Last Night in Rome/Italy Dinner

John Apr 26, 2006 10:03 AM

Hello All!

We'll be taking a trip to Italy in June.
Rome will be our last night and we're looking
for a spot for dinner, I guess money is no object,
but not looking to break the bank. If I can get
a recommendation for a spot near the Trevi Fountain, I'd be most appreciative. It doesn't have to be
chic, not to sound snobby, but not a touristy spot, something the Romans enjoy, just a great meal for the end of what I'm sure will be an incredible trip.
Thanks all very much, happy eating and all the best to you.

Al Moro - roman classic near the Trevi.

Ai Presidente, a few steps from the Trevi Fountain, very upscale and very local.

I can't give you any rec on restaurants near Trevi, but for dessert you MUST have the gelato from San Crispino, they open late, which is right around the corner from the fountain. Try their honey & grapefruit flavors......heavens!!!!

We've made a custom of having our last night's dinner at Ristorante Sant'Eustachio, which is slightly west of the Pantheon. We sit outdoors, have fried stuffed squash blossoms, and eat fresh peaches for dessert. It's always memorable.

I would second this choice. Very nice place that is frequented by the locals

Right around the corner from one of the best espresso bars as well (S. Eustachio Cafe)
