Zibibbo and BZF - Florence
I have been to Zibibbo (though it was two years ago) and thought it was superb. It's out in the middle of nowhere, so you'll either need to take a cab or drive yourself, but it's well worth it. The owner (the ex-wife of the owner/chef of Cibreo, I believe) was extraordinarily friendly and helpful, and the meal was excellent (so excellent I still remember it vividly). Among the standouts were a "sformata of ricotta with herbs" and a skewer of scamorza cheese with pears (both as starters), outstanding squid ink pasta with tomato sauce, and for main course swordfish in a sweet/sour sauce, stuffed duck with orange sauce, and a squid dish with greens (inzimino di calamari). The wine list is also very good, and at the time our dinner for four people with several bottles only came to Euro 192. GO!
