hi there! im going to stockholm later this month and i've never been before... i will be on my own, so i'm looking for a few restaurants to head to for dinner where i won't be lonely. also, they need to be (relatively) cheap, since i'm on a budget. i'd like to spend around $20 per meal. i know stockholm is expensive though...
also, i eat fish but not meat, and i'm young and trendy (but at the same time i prefer that my dining experiences not put trendiness above the quality of the food).
totally clueless,

Here are suggestions for saving money while here. Don't drink anything but tap water. Even a coke will set you back 3-5 dollars at dinner time. And it will probably only be about 8 ounces. The tap water is extremely good. 99% of hotels have a breakfast buffet included in the room price. If yours does fill up then. Most places will serve "dagens rätt" for lunch for 8-12 USD. You will get a choice of fish, meat, paste or vegeterian place a non-alcoholic drink and coffee for that price. But some places do not include the drink and coffee. Check because those two could cost almost as much as the rest of the lunch otherwise!

Finally some suggestions for dinner. Bakfikan at the Opera House. Pontus in the Green House in Gamla Stan, the Old Town. (eating in the first floor bar not upstairs which would cost about 10 times your budget).
Sturehof at Stureplan if you are careful about what you order. And finally on Södermalm in the saluhall Melanders Fisk

Others ways to save money while here is to walk/buss rather than taxi and ABSOLUTELY take the train from the airport to the city, not a taxi. The train is easier (leaves from the bottom floor of the arrivals building), faster 30 minutes compared to close to 1 hour and about 25% of the price!

Enjoy your visit.
