Yes, I've scoured the board. But, I'm just wondering if there are any recent opinions:

Golden Hind
Fryer's Delight
Rock and Sole Plaice

Somewhere else?

Thanks tons!

Hello,
this is a little update that I wrote a while back (a little google goes a long way : ) :

I went here (Rock and Sole Plaice, 57 Endell Street,London) on staurday afternoon, around 2pm and the crowds were just beginning. The sun was out so many of the punters were sitting outside (they got a large number of tables, you can drink booze out there as well, but you gotsta buy food..and fair enough: beer £2.50 per bottle, wine £8 cheapest bottle)

anyway..the food:
I shared a large Haddock n chips and for £9 it was a tad pricey, but worth it. My girlfrind and I got one portion, two (40p) bread rolls, two beers and just sat and ate fish and chip butties til we got bored and left. Best batter I've had in london and the chips were ace.

Don't go to dine: just head there if your near covent garden to get a little snackette or late lunch.

Geales' is indeed still in Notting Hill (2 Farmers Rd). However, I found the fish a little greasy - but this was a couple of years ago when I ate there.

Mattheou's Fish Bar in Coombe Lane West, Raynes Park, London SW20 is pretty good, if you happen to be in that part of the world.

The cod is very fresh indeed, and I like the chips. (They fry in oil not tallow, if this is a concern for you.)
