Hello - I have read many good suggestions for Tapas and more simple meals in Seville, but am still researching some of our other destinations. We will be travelling in November, and are looking for suggestions. We are travelling by car, and will consider all food worthy detours. Has anyone here eaten at the Paradors in Arcos de la Frontera or Cordoba? Thanks in advance.

We stayed at the Arcos parador last fall and ate all our meals there for two days and two nights...it is a lovely place..try to get a room with a terrace. The food at the parador is excellent which is good since there are not many options in the town. They do not have much in the way of tapas, per se, except maybe at the bar of the parador. If that is what you want, you will find a few places within easy walk of the parador. Seville is another story....we were there for 6 days and I think we only had one sit-down meal..the tapas places were amazing!!!! Be ware that this is not always inexpensive, though....If you want more details for Seville I can look at my notes.

The one restaurant in which we ate a sit-down dinner was Enrique Becerra...very good food and atmosphere They also have great tapas at the bar. About a block away, a wonderful tapas place, my favorite, is Paco Gongarra on Calle Padre Marchena. This place had a great variety of seafood tapas as well as the usual meats.....there are a couple of tables but it is pretty much standing room only. Another tapas favorite of mine is Casa Blanca on Calle Zaragoza....I recall a house potato dish that was amazing..... The tapas in Sevilla were uniformly great at these and the other places we went to. I only wish I had had more time to try out some of the other bars!

erica,

Thanks for the memory jog. I LOVE Enrique Becerra, and usually stay 2 doors down at Hostal Nevada. Did you have the paper thin white fish served on roe, drenched in olive oil and lemon juice? My mouth is watering!
