<content>I've read a fair bit about the Fat Duck recently, and was looking forward to trying the 'second best restaurant in world'.

My companions and I opted for the menu degustation, and quite frankly it was almost entirely revolting. Mushy, slimy, tepid, and generally denatured.

One of my friends mentioned the Monty Python chocolate box sketch with the 'crunchy frog surprise', an analogy that was hard to shake off.

I don't get the food here at all, perhaps one of you Brits could explain whether or not this is some elaborate joke at the expense (in both senses) of Americans (most of the guests seemed to be from the U.S.)?

<content>You may enjoy reading some other reviews at www.london-eating.co.uk. After doing so myself, I'll definitely not be dropping any &#163;&#163;&#163; at this place. It reminds me of the play, 'Art.'</content>
