Leaving tomorrow for two weeks traveling around Ukraine. What should I eat?

  1. Ukraine is famous for borscht (which is not a Russian dish, though the Russians made it famous), Chicken Kiev (which actually is a Russian dish), and holubtsy (stuffed cabbage). It has been some time since I have been to Ukraine, but the food was never the reason to go there. Where in Ukraine will you be?

Kiev, Odessa, Sevastopol, Yalta, etc. My hobby is all things USSR and I'm going to visit a lot of historical places. The food is secondary but I don't want to miss any specialties. Last year I visited Russia and managed to eat lots of cheap but fabulous caviar and smoked fish of all kinds. Russian borscht was WAY better than any fascimile I've tasted here in the states. And they have GREAT chocolate and pastries. I'm a vodka aficionado and there are so many kinds and flavors on offer for not very much money in Russia that I was in heaven. I'll let you know what's good to eat in Ukraine. Be back at the end of the month. Bye now.

    2. in kiev go to the Bessarabia market- you can buy very good, very cheap caviar and very intersting cured meats and fishes.

      1. Only healthy food without GMO. Most of it healthy and gets NATURALLY spoiled in 3 days.
Long forgotten thiong in the West.
        No plastic macD either.

Call me - I will tell you where to go.
