Looking for Recommendations of Restaurants and Pubs in the Cornwall area of England. Not Padstow but around Polperro, Looe and the southern part of Cornwall. Much appreciated

You've got a black hole here in my opinion. Found nothing in Looe or Polperro that was interesting in a recent search.

We stayed at the Crumplehorn in Polperro

http://www.crumplehorn-inn.co.uk

Good beer, clean place, nice atmosphere, very friendly, but for food it was more mouth than trousers. I think the owner, Andrew Taylor, a knowlegable chef and charming fellow, is now more interested in the internet and prospects of re-locating than keeping his kitchen in order. A shame really.

That having been said, we did not have a better meal in Looe or Polperro than at the Crumplehorn.

If you don't know the area be warned that you can 'do' both villages in a day (depending on your interests - of course).

Project Eden is nearby and well worth a visit to see the buildings and flora (rubbish food but one or two interesting bottled beers).

Regards,

In April, 2002 we had a very good lunch at the Crown in Lanlivery (near Bodmin) after a visit to the Eden Project. Also a good dinner at the Smuggler's Inn in Newlyn, near Penzance, although the service was pretty amateur. Another good tourist stop near the Crown is Lanhydrock House, one of the better of many stately homes I've visited in England.
