Tried it just before Christmas - highly recommended. Gutsy, flavourful, no-nonsense cooking and good quality ingredients. Plain wooden tables - you may have to share - but good efficient service. We'll be back.

Only drawbacks are the noise level - pretty deafening when we went on a Friday night- and the inadequate small tumblers used for wine.

Haven't been there myself, but my brother assures me that it's very pleasant. Handy for Waterloo, as well. I am meeting Alys there tomorrow afternoon, which is an exciting development. Also, I haven't drunk a drop of alcohol since January 1st, so that's doubly exciting. (Well, not exactly "doubly" - that would be to suggest that I'm looking forward to seeing a glass of wine as much as I'm looking forward to seeing Alys, which wouldn't be true at all). So yes, I should probably go to bed now, although there's the second half of that terrible Daryl Hannah DVD upstairs that I began last night and have to take back tomorrow. Should I watch it...? Hmmm. No. I think I'll take my Porridge scripts to bed. They're very funny, but alarmingly racist at times.
