Half trappa plus gård serves very good chinese near Stureplan. Green House Bar in Gamla Stan serves modern tapas from all cuisines. Restaurangen (yes thats the whole name) near Sergels Torg serves all kinds of food in smaller portions. All are mid range in price and very good quality and are good choice for dinner whether dining alone or with others. Lunch try wedholms fisk and order the cheapest main course to stay in moderate range. They are experts at traditional fish dishes with creme sauces.

Bakfickan ("hip pocket") is in the Opera House (entrance around the back), and it shares a kitchen with two more expensive restaurants in the complex, but it's just a simple counter with relatively cheap prices. Traditional Swedish food - meatballs, herring, salmon, etc.

Ostermalms Saluhall is a big food market worth a visit, and the two big seafood sellers in the back are both good places for lunch.

"Prinsen" on Mäster Samuelsgatan and "Tranan" at Odenplan will both give you traditional Swedish cuisine in informal surroundings, I would give the latter the edge. "KB" at Norrmalmstorg (actually the little side-street) has lots of caracter, also Swedish but more up-scale. "Gondolen" at slussen is best for lunch or an afternoon drink, the view is the main reason to go there.
