Veyrat Launches "Mont Blanc and Gastronomy" Chef Group
Some diners visiting one of Veyrat's establishments or skiing in the region might choose to visit Hameau Albert 1er, a rsetaurant I have never sampled. The recent 100th anniversary celebrations included involved Paul Bocuse, Pierre Troisgros and Marc Veyrat. The occasion also marked the launch of the "Mont Blanc and Gastronomy", mult-country chef group, sponsored (in the non-financial sense) by chefs that include P Troisgros and P Bocuse.

Now why does Veyrat need to be part of this group? Isn't he already part of the Group of Eight? It's very strange. It's true that this group is more regional, and includes chefs of generally lower caliber, than the Group of Eight. But why?

We were in Chamonix years ago and stayed at Albert 1er for three days. At that time it had 2 stars. Each night's dinner was more mediocre than the night before.
So you've missed nothing.

Cy -- Hi :) Don't worry. I'm not at all impressed with Veyrat's cuisine, after four meals split between A de l'Eridan and Ferme de Mon Pere and am not inclined to revisit that region any time soon. I am slightly interested in Pont de Brent, so that might take me to the general vicinity :)

Hi Cabby
We also stayed at l'Eridan for 3 days, but this was fairly recently(cant pinpoint time any more, it flies by too quickly)We had a room overlooking the lake, with a balcony- about the most spectacular hotel room in my experience. But I was more impressed with the square glass plates than I was with the food:)
Dont understand why you have been bounced from one one board after the other, but you have certainly added a touch of class to this one:)

Because I have been suspended/terminated/barred from even viewing (or have requested termination from, as applicable) other boards. :)
