The current (July/August) issue of National Geographic TRAVELER magazine has a good article about visiting Glasgow. It covers places to see, where to stay and where to eat. I am sure you will find it helpful.

If it's still there - go to The Round Table in the old part - great haggis - which is not supposed to be great but it is. Go to Rose St. which has 30+ pubs, go to Edinburgh Castle. Just hang out and drink Glen Fiddich and the old Scottish men will introduce themselves.
