Any opinions about this place for a 40th bday dinner celebration for 2 people looking for a relaxed evening and good food? Not looking for some huge excessive blowout meal-*?I realize there are probably more fab places in Paris. And are jackets necessary/required?
Thanks.

Here are Patricia Wells' comments from 2001. She has left the restaurant off her list of favorites the last 2 years.
Service remains the biggest set back here, but this young chef from France’s southwest and true talent. Tapas-style bar downstairs, fine dining upstairs.

My wife and I had a great meal there two years ago on our honeymoon. I'd recommend it. Fancy but not fussy (jackets preferred but not required). The tasting menu is the way to go--we didn't have one poor dish in the 7+ served--and the wine list is good but not great.

Darozze is a hot young chef (featured in a NYTimes series a few months ago in the food section) who recently received another Michelen star, which brings it to (I believe) two stars.

I ate there two weeks ago and found it disappointing. There were some bright spots -- an olive oil ice cream with roasted apricots and soem good regional wines -- but I am shocked that this place has two stars in Michelin.
