However, the menu in the window made no mention of Trattoria Boni and seemed to be for a place called Trattoria Amadeo, or something like that. Did we get the address wrong? Did it change hands? Has anyone been there lately? Other Bologna restaurant recc's, (we know about Gigina, Gianni's, Battibecco, and Meloncello)--Mr. Dixie has recently given up some 12 years of vegetarianism, so we can start going out! I just tried to advise a couple of friends who don't eat pork how to navigate the city, which proved disastrous. I thought risotto would be a good bet but they ended up with risotti di cinghiale. But now you can go out. I'm so jealous. Bologna was the best 15 kilos I ever gained. P.S. have you seen the cookbook "Donne e Ricette dalla Prateria Bolognese"? It's full of beautiful B&W photos of the women of Bologna and the campagnia, their stories and recipes, "narrated" by a local comedian celebrity dressed in various drag ensembles.
