Since Burke and Wells report last September, I haven't seen Laperouse mentioned on this board.Does anyone have a corroborating or a contrary opinion?I haven't been there since its glory days in the sixties; not sure if I should revisit it on a three day trip in May.

My wife and I ate at Laperouse the last night of our honeymoon. We had a nice private room, which is free if you request it when you make reservations. I can't remember everything we had but here's what I remember:

blue lobster chunks with cepes mushrooms - Misread the menu. I'm not a fan of mushrooms. I didn't expect just chunks of the riches lobster meat imaginable plus cepes mushrooms. I was disappointed.

venison with a fig puree - better than the lobster. My wife really liked it.

carmelized rhubarb tart - very good

chocolate souffle with carmel sauce - out of this world good

I can't remember any of the appetizers, sorry. The truth is that our best meals were from the bistros. Le Florimond was the best. I can give you a more descriptive version of that meal if you'd like. Send an email if you are interested.
