Went to St. Croix about 15 years ago. Beautiful island. Don't recall anything memorable about the food. Rum is cheap. Good duty free store. Has a (probably undeserved at this point) reputation of not being tourist friendly. Several very nice golf courses which seemed to be the big draw. Otherwise, there's St. John's, St. Thomas, Virgin Gorda, and other islands nearby to explore.

It's been 3 years since I've been to St Croix but I don't remember it being one of the better dining islands. From my hazy memory I recall...
a small italian place downtown, Tutto Bene... Always had yummy pastas and a relaxed casual spot.
One of the "finest" restaurants on the island was the Top Hat, I found it a little stuffy and the Euro-Scandia food too heavy for the islands.
A fun place to hang out used to be"Cheeseburger in Paradise" which has good burgers and is totally oustide.
Indies is a romantic courtyard and always was very good and creative in a similar style is Kendrick's--maybe a little more formal-old historic house setting.
Dino's at the Buccaneer had fine Italian fare and was better than your normal hotel dining room; maybe because it is a family run hotel.
Try Cruzan's rum cream; the rum factory there actually ships rum to the Bailey's folks in Ireland where they do their magic and send it back, yummy.
