Vietnamese in London - new place on Kingsland Road...Help !

magnolia Aug 27, 2002 09:14 AM

I recently read a review in one of the London papers/magazines of a new place somewhere near Viet Hoa on Kingsland Road, but I misplaced the review and can't remember the name of a restaurant. It would have opened within the last month or so. Any insight??

It's called Song Que, 134G Kingsland Rd, E2
    0207 613 3222

It was reviewed in Time Out a couple of weeks ago, I believe. Pls let us know if you go and what you think.

I went there last night on the reccomendation of the time out review but it was awful - rubbery squid, terrible service, warm beer and indifferent vegetables. I don;t know how they got it so wrong - I suspect a tipoff. Best Vietnamese is the nearby Huong Viet 12-14 Englefield Road 020 7249 0877- it's part of a Vietnamese community centre and it cooks up a mighty storm.

That would be the Viet Grill, 2 doors from Viet Hoa. That restaurant was on the Independent last week.
