OK...this is bugging the LIFE out of me.
Years ago in Brussels, I stumbled on a chocolate shop that I thought was a single shop.
Turns out it is a HUGE chain with TONS of stores.

I LOVED their 77% dark chocolate bar.
When the internet came into being....I discovered they had a website.

My problem is.....I lost their address and I cannot for the LIFE of me remember their name.

Their shops are done in the color maroon.
In fact.....the chocolate bar I had came in a dark maroon wrapper.

All I know is that they are a big chain of shops in Brussels. They may also be through out Belgium.

If anyone has even a CLUE what their name might be or who they are....please let me know. I would recognize it immediately.

Thanks for ANY help you can offer.....I REALLY want to find this place again.

Dennison posted about Chocolove (link below). They have a 77% bar that is out of this world. Not the place you're looking for, but made with Belgian chocolate.pat

There is a little shop in Brugge called The Chocolate Line. In the back is the chocolate maker in a white chef's hat and coat. In front the shelves are filled with his incredible creations. As rich, as intensely flavored, incredibly creamy (some even incredibly but not overbearably alcoholic) this is what your grandmother would make if she was an obsessed chocoholic who also happened to be a gifted cook and a perfectionist. The shop has a wooden floor which helps lend the feeling of another era. In America you would almost expect to find a real soda fountain on one side. In this store there are tables with magnificent chocolate sculptures and houses.
Down the street is a Leonidas, further down Neuhaus. On most any day when The Chocolate Line is open there is a line. For the others an occasional customer.
you can order over the phone and they are willing to ship anywhere in the world via courier. This is NOT a business style of their's but they will do it.

Again, not the place you're looking for. And it's Swiss, not Belgian, but Teuscher makes excellent (if expensive) chocolates. Just got to Teuscher.com.

but I have never tried their dark ....and I mean REALLY dark bars. I don't know if they even make them as dark as I like them. Sometimes I like bars as high as 86%. That's really what I'm looking for.

Thanks for your input.

I was curious, and did a google search for "Belgium chocolates", and came up with this list of chocolate factories, stores, tours, and festivals. Perhaps the one you're looking for is here. Merry Xmas!

Cschein....Thanks sooooo MUCH ! The site didn't actually have the complete name......but the first name on the list jogged my memory.
The name of the shop is Corne Port-Royal.
Now I will try to find their web site.
At least I have the name.

Thanks again.
That was the best unexpected holiday gift I could have gotten.
Take care and have a safe holiday.

If you hadn't suggested it....I would most likely not have gone back to look at it again.
Thanks sooo much. Yes....you made me VERY happy.
Take care and have a safe holiday season.

Sorry to interrupt the mouth-watering Belgian chocolate discussion. While I know it's de riguer on many internet discussion sites to change subject titles with your posts, here on Chowhound, we ask you to keep the content of your message in the post istself and leave the subject title be unless there is a serious drift in the content of the thread. You see, many of our regulars like to use the Hot Posts feature, which shows only the most recent posts, and subjects like "They are indeed good" don't give a clue as to what the thread you're responding to is about. Thanks for your cooperation. Now back to the chow!

I know the company/brand you are looking for, but don't have the name right now. In Brussels they ofter share their outlets with Godiva, so if you look that up you may find them. If I see them on my travels or the name comes back to me (I think it begins with 'N') I'll let you know.
