I have a friend that spends six months a year in Venezuela and is in desperate need of good eats. He likes EVERYTHING! He doesn't mind driving any distance and is often around Caracas. Any thoughts????

Veeeery late reply, but here are a few options:
Spanish:
- Urrutia (two locations, the one in Las Mercedes is more accessible, but the one in Sabana Grande is arguably better)
- Casa Pakea (amazing, but located in Galipan in the middle of the Avila mountain; hard to get a reservation and hard to get to)

Italian:
- Vizio (expensive but incredibly good)
- Da Guido (also in Sabana Grande, so go for lunch and not for dinner because it is not the nicest part of town; no-frills homestyle cooking, very tasty)

Japanese:
- Sakura (Los Palos Grandes)
- Avila Tei (La Castellana)

Chinese:
- Chez Wong (high-end, located in La Castellana)
- Kung Hei (extremely good and very authentic, but bad location in Las Acacias near Sabana Grande)

Modern:
- Shayara (molecular cuisine in Los Palos Grandes)

Arepas:
- El Budare de La Castellana (La Castellana, always open... great after a long night out)

There are a bunch more that come to mind, but these are a good start
