I used to live here and am going back after a long while. Would love to check out some of the newer hotspots. I particularly love Indian-Chinese food and chaat and north indian specialities.
Thanks in advance
Sorry, can't tell you where to go for Mughlai or Chinese in Chennai. But you're wasting your time, for sure. Fantastic thalis (both Tamil and Gujurati varieties - they call the Gujurati "Bombay") can be found in the dining hall of the Dasaprakash Hotel on the Poonamallee High Road. Check out the Ice Cream Parlour just for the ambiance mid-afternoon. Go to Analakshmi (central Chennai) for a great variety of oothapams and dosas. More pricey (but worth it but I haven't been for a couple of years) is the restaurant called Dakshin in the Park Sheraton Hotel (so. Chennai) or Raintree at the Connemara (which includes good Chettanid food). The neighborhood known as T-Nagar is good for fast-food on the street.
