        <content>Recently back from a brief sojourn to Paris where I&#8217;d thoroughly recommend lovers of hearty rustic fare pay a visit to Le Domaine de Lintillac, quite near the opera.  It was mentioned in passing in the Observer Food Monthly mag a few issues ago and turned out to be a tip worth following up.   
 
The food is traditional, artery busting, P&#233;rigourdine, with everything sourced from farms and vineyards in south western France.  Lots of different types of foie gras and p&#226;t&#233;s to start with (there are toasters on each table so you can toast your own bread), and mains of magret de canard, cassoulets, and the like.  I also liked the touch of being trusted enough not to pinch their emminently nickable Laguiole dinner knives.  
 
Aside from being the best meal I had while I was there it was also the cheapest &#8211; 3 courses, coffee, and a nice bottle of Cahors came in at a shade over 300FF for two.  Bargain.  It can be found at:
