Need Tokyo Tips

I'm going to Tokyo for the first time and I'm looking for some fun and offbeat food ideas.

I'm only interested in Japanese food and I'm especially interested in any yakitori-ya recommendations.

Thanks.

    Hi Jeff,

I'm sure you'll have a great time over here. When, and for how long, are you going to be here? Below, find a link to a previous message about my favorite (so far) yakitori-ya. Also, any trip to Tokyo that doesn't include at least one visit to Tonki is just unfortunate.

I'd really advise doing a search on "Tokyo" from this site's main page. Start culling through the results, looking for ones attached to the International board.

Also, I'd strongly recommend picking up a copy of "Tokyo City Guide", which you can order from Amazon.com (through this site, of course). I've found my copy to be indispensible, and I pretty much trust the restaurant recommendations in it.

    Yoroshiku,
    Andy
