Good/authentic/reasonable food in Bahamas
Hubby and I are going to the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. While the resort is supposed to be really cool, eveyone says the food is tremendously expensive and decidely mediocre. So to avoid culinary disappointment, I turn to the Chowhounds for help -- what are good/great restaurants in Nassau or Paradise Island that won't cost $100/meal?
Sending you much gratitude in advance.
It's been years since I was there so this won't really help you, but I remember having the most amazing conch fritters at a little shack-type place in a very non- touristy area.
If you don't get any recommendations here, I'd ask the locals where they eat.

It's also been years since I've been, but my most amazing meal was a conch ceviche on the beach, purchased from a local walking around with a cooler. I think it was five dollars, and it was a served in a sandwich bag stuffed to the brim with super-fresh conch and veggies.
Best ceviche I've ever had. I still dream about it.
