Does anyone have any tips on Venice, Italy in late October? Looking for good restaurants, markets, wine shops, etc.

I was just there in August. A very good restaurant is Al Covo at Campiello della Pescaria, 041/522-3812.Extremely fresh seafood, good wine list ,friendly service. The owners wife is from Texas.Get a one day or one week pass for the water bus-vaporetti. Don't miss the Doges Palace and the Guggenheim. Get Gelato at Gelateria Paolin, Campo San Stefano.Have fun!

If you use the search mechanism on the home page, you will find scores of notes about restaurants in Venice. And it will save everyone from me recommending La Furatola for the fifth time.

        (1) Faith Willinger's Eating in Italy has the type of info re markets and wines - as well as restaurants-you are looking for. The Rialto market is the obvious market destination, -have some of the astounding grapes (their muscats, in several colors and varieties put our unripe, unsweet "italico" grapes totally in the shade.
        (2) I hope new folks who didn't contribute to the past threads (which you should read!)will chime in with their Venice ideas.
