Boy, Barry, talk about a timely question. I just got back from a brief trip to Bermuda on Sunday night. We had a very good, very high end meal at the Caliban Restaurant in the Ariel Sands Hotel. The place is a jewel in looks, and the bar is especially nice. Regarding the food, be careful, most of the fish is frozen, but the local lobster was fresh (and expensive) and the Bermuda fish chowder was excellent.
I also went up to the "Sports Club" on the South Road into Hamilton for their Sunday morning special of the traditional Bermudan breakfast of codfish and potatoes. Not much of a crowd--it's not a restaurant, it's a private club which has a small luncheonette attached which, I think, has a broader menu during the week. The food was really good.
A lady in the hotel also recommended a restaurant called Paw Paw, also on the South Road on the way into Hamilton, for local food. I didn't get a chance to try it, but it sure looked promising when I drove by.

Otherwise, I ate business food at the Sonesta Beach--no reason at all to eat there.

By the way, I had a wonderful time on Bermuda even if I was there for business. The weather was excellent and I walked for miles. I think you'll enjoy it.

I've just returned from Bermuda as well and had wonderful meals at Cafe Lido right on the water on the grounds of the Elbow Beach Hotel, and at La Coquille which is at the Underwater Historical Museum. They are both pricey but very good. Lunch on the patio at Waterloo House was also quite nice, with a good spicy Bermuda fish Chowder.

My best meals were at British style pubs in Hamilton or at the roadside from sandwich vans. Otherwise, eating out is horrifically expensive and, in my opinion, uninspiring. The pub fare, however, is affordable and fine. There is also a nice brewery in Bermuda which has a daily "party" after closing hours (3:30?) The Bermuda Triangle Brewery its called and if you like beer, its worth a stop. Definitely rent a moped. Snorkeling is best at Church Bay beach. Have fun.
