Need opinions on some French restaurants?
We're planning a trip to France and are looking for any opinions on the following restaurants:
Marc Veyrat (Lake Annecy)
Auberge du Pere Bise (Lake Annecy)
Chateau Eza (Eze)
Bastide de Moustiers (Moustiers-Ste-Marie)
Michel Chabran (Pont de l'Isere)
Lucas Carton (Paris)

Lori - I can only speak about 2 of these restaurants from personal experience. Bastide de Moustiers was very good, but we were there over 3 years ago, so I don't know how it is now. However, we drove from Paris to go there for dinner, and then drove back afterwards (almost running out of gas in the process). It's a nice drive, but I don't recommend doing it the way we did...all in one night. The food was very good, and the place itself had a warm and cozy feeling about it. The service was very attentive without being obtrusive.
As fas as Lucas Carton goes, we were there last month, and it was one of the best meals we've ever had (our BEST meal ever was at Auberge de L'ill in Illhaeusern, near Strasbourg (on the France/Germany border). If you're near there, you REALLY should try it). Anyway, we had the tasting menu and every course had black truffles in it. It was superb. The polenta course was outstanding. It was one of the best dishes I've ever eaten anywhere. The place is beautiful, but a bit stuffy. We spent a small fortune for the meal, but we both agreed it was worth it.
Well, that's it. I'd be curious to hear your opinion on these when you get back.
