London-German or Greek eats around Victoria Station?
I don't know London's geography all that well, so I couldn't tell you whether this place is near Victoria Station or not. My husband and I found it when we were looking for a pre-theatre dinner: Greek Gods Taverna, 6 Maiden Lane, Covent Garden. Other than a waiter and the chef/owner, the place was empty. I thought it might be a sign, but it was fortunate that we were in a daring mood, because our meal was delightful. For £25.10, including tip and taxes, we shared an appetizer of taramosalata with pita bread, a large Greek salad, and a kebab of extraordinarily tender and tasty grilled lamb, along with a bottle of a surprisingly enjoyable red wine from Cyprus called Afame.
This is a June '93 excerpt from my travel journal, so there's no way to know if the place still exists. However, if it is located conveniently for you, I'd say it's at least worth a look.
