Getting psyched for Indonesia . . .

On July 29th I'm leaving for a month-long journey
throughout Indonesia (remote locations mostly).
What culinary adventures should I seek out or expect?
I've done my reading but would like to hear firsthand
no personal experience whatever to report, but have
you looked at Sri Owen's books, particularly
Indonesian Regional Cooking? In addition to providing
recipes, she systematically describes, not always
flatteringly, the cuisine circa 1995 of the various
islands and regions of Indonesia.
