New Places to eat in Kona

Staying in Kailua...anything new and different, will be on the hot island for 10 days and have my favorites, but if there is something new I would love to know about it.

Fujimamas and Kenichi Pacific. Haven't been to Fujimamas since they reopened after remodeling, but it was great last November right after they first opened. Also, Rocky's Pizza has new owners (as of a few months ago) and has expanded the menu. I love their pesto pizza.

Went to Fujimama's in August and it was great. Service was a little slow so they paid for all our drinks to compensate. One of the best dinner options in downtown Kona.

aha! Looking at the map and adress, I realize that this is what went into the old Izakaya Kai space...it is a nice space, so might have to check it out when I am there later this week.

However, it is quite disconcerting to see a description that the philosophy of the food is based on 'fresh, not fussed over', right next to pictures of some of the most fussy looking food imaginable!
