Hi,

I'm flying from New York to San Francisco tomorrow. I am a big fan of Jean Georges and Daniel here in New York. Please give me some tips on what to order. Something that cannot be found in NYC, something that makes French Laundry a great culinary heaven it is today.

Thank you.

It's been around since the begining, kind of a secret. One of many good reasons to spend an entire evening there. Unfortunately 16 courses wasn't enough so we added our own favorites at the ready, set, go.

My parents, fiance and I went to FL two weeks ago and my parents chose the 9-course chef's tasting menu whereas we had the 5-course menu. The 5-course menu let's you chose from a selection of 5 - 7 dishes per course and I was too excited about the presented options to not have a choice ;-). It was remarkable how they orchestrated the flow of our meal given that we had four courses less than my parents that we did not even notice. I also recommend giving the wine selection into the hands of the sommelier. I found the wine list overwhelming and figured they would know best how to pair the food of the night. We ordered a bottle of white and a bottle of red and that was sufficient for the four of us. His choices were excellent (Spotteswoode Sauvignon Blanc and JC Cellars Syrah) and at $52 and $64 did not break the bank. Enjoy !
