Food on the Big Island

Help! I'm off to Kona on Monday with my family and I'm wondering if anyone has any restaurant suggestions. I'll check out Bay View Farm as Rachel suggested, but what's good for meals in and around Kona? Also, my son is seven months old, any baby friendly restaurant suggestions?

The first thing you've got to know about the Big Island is that none--none!--of the big deal places are worth it. Especially not Sam Choy, which is sort of actively revolting. That being said, Oodles of Noodles in Kailua is pretty great, chefly food from Amy Ota at coffee shop prices; the pork chops at the Manago Hotel in Captain Cook are legendary; and Ocean View Inn right downtown is a total slice of the 1940s: do sluice the beef stew with the homemade chili pepper water. Babies are welcome everywhere except for snooty resort restaurants.
