Best Pizza in Brooklyn NY...No Doubt About it
Living in Brooklyn for 40+ years and loving pizza,I have tried many...Bensonhurst, Bay Ridge, Sheepshead Bay, Coney Island, Downtown, Brooklyn Heights, Canarsie, and everywhere in between. There can only be one "BEST" and it is in Midwood. DiFara is the place for pizza!!! In my mind, there is no competition!! Many people have said that it is a religious experience to eat the pizza that comes out of the oven of Domenic DiMarco and I have to agree...AND I AM NOT EVEN RELIGIOUS!!!

Just noticed this thread was from seven years ago. I lived in Brooklyn as a child and there wasn't such thing as bad pizza back then. You could go anywhere and get a great slice. Now with the price of flower going up, the slices getting smaller and thinner, I would be surprised if any of these meccas to pizza is as god as advertised. I know many Brooklyn lifers who have told me that while these places are good, they don't hold a candle to the pizza of yesteryear. I too will have to make a trek down to try DiFara's and Grimaldi's and see fo myself. Good luck in April and hope it's as good as advertised.

Difara is REALLY GREAT! a little expensive but well worth it!! Grimaldi's is another AWESOME place as is Totonno's (personally my fav) but there are so many neighborhood pizza places that are really good but go unrecognized!!! Krispy pizza on 13th ave (dyker heights) has a HUGE variety of different pizza and EVERY SINGLE ONE IS AWESOME!

I have also seen the LIGHT. Mr. Ozersky of Newsday recently wrote "One man - bent, driven, possessed - towers over the world of pizza. His name is spoken of in hushed tones by the circle of believers; his work is subsumed in mystique; and no one who has made the trek to distant Midwood to eat his handiwork has ever walked away less than awed. Now, Domenico DeMarco, the Paganini of pie, has given his blessing to a Manhattan branch of his Midwood pizzeria, DiFara's. It will be run by his children, according to his most exacting standards, and is called DeMarco's, ' W. Houston St., 212-253-2291". Pizza J:15
