ISO cute, INEXPENSIVE, fabulous Italian restaurant

Denise Dec 29, 2000 05:59 PM

By accident with a friend I discovered the delightful backyard garden of Da Nico on Mulberry St. . . can anyone recommend an inexpensive but nonetheless delicious Italian restaurant? Food is more important than atmosphere, but it will be hard to compete with that garden. . .Manhattan or NE NJ preferred. Thanks!

I love Gennaro's. It's on the Upper West Side, and there's always a wait, but the gnocchi and antipasti are superlative. I also like Il Bagatto on the Lower East Side. Both are very well-priced considering how good the food is.
