It's almost Thanksgiving. Any updated suggestions for delicious pie in NYC, the Bronx, or Westchester?

  1. It sure ain't a "find," but Little Pie Company sure is dependably wonderful. You can do a lot worse than the sour cream walnut apple pie. And I love having a choice of three different sizes for their pies.

What do you mean. That sour cream apple walnut pie is by far, hands down, the best apple pie this side of the Mississipi. And best of all there isn't a hint of allspice or nutmeg!!! Order early, they take bookings at Thanksgiving. I buy from them wholesale and we have to place our orders by today or tommorrow for pre-Thanksgiving deliveries.

All I meant to say, Lisa, is that the Little Pie Company's pies are so ubiquitous (especially the s.c.w.a.p.) that it's hard to believe that the original poster has never tried them.

But this is a case of a product whose popularity is totally deserved. LPC does a great job, and I only meant to say that sometimes the foodstuffs that are right in front of our eyes and tables are among the best available anywhere.

Agreed. Another case of do only what you do and do it well.

    2. My favorite "bakery" (actually, they don't bake - they aggregate!) on East 55th between 1st & 2nd, gets the best desserts in NY every day, and then sells them to you...plus they deliver! Ask for Sam.
