Need a suggestion for a romantic restaurant for wedding anniversary. No price limit, must be no more than an hour (or so) from NY City. Need a very special place.

There are several wonderful high end restaurants to go to. Here are my favorites:

Restaurant X in Congers, NY: Beautiful contemporary atmosphere, top service and flawless New American/Classic American Cuisine

Xavier's at Piermont, NY: Formal and very romantic restaurant (same owner as Restaurant X). Again, both food and service are exceptional.

Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, NY: A truely unique dining experience focusing on food grown on premises.

La Panetiere in Rye, NY: Classic French food served in a very formal atmosphere with top service.

Hope these are helpful...Restaurant X and Stone Barns are my top 2 picks...good luck!

All great choices, but we've been to all of them. We are looking for a romantic place to eat & possibly stay overnight & that is why we put the hour or so away from NY City in the posting. Your suggestions are appreciated.

Maybe this is a little more of what you are looking for...

I've not been, but I've heard great things about it. The website is beautiful.

If price is indeed no object, I would strongly recommend Monteverde at Oldstone Manor in Cortlandt Manor (on Rt 9 near Peekskill, on the road to the Bear Mtn Bridge, 3/4 mile on left past the Bear Mtn Parkway intersection).

The restaurant menu is wonderful, not too pricey, so that you can afford to pay for one of the two rooms available at the inn, along with the accompanying spa services.

The package is truly a treat. And the restaurant is quite affordable, for those who are on a more limited budget.

How is L'ESCALE's food? Is it as good as Thomas Henklemann?

Lescale's food is truly great, but the cocktails are awesome!

Easy. Homestead Inn in Greenwich, CT.

Enjoy the food, spend the night.

There is no comparision between Henkleman's and L'escale. Two totally different vibes. I'd lean toward Henkleman's and stay over at the inn.
