Hello everyone! Planning a day trip Sat to The Planting Fields Arboretum in the Oyster Bay Area first and then we want to try to head over to the Sands Point Preserve. We are originating from Brooklyn and will be returning there that evening as well. Wondered what you foodies would recommend in those areas. We will have some in our group who cannot eat shellfish and others that love it and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Oysters! We would be looking for casual & moderately priced. What say you?

Canterbury Ales Oyster Bar & Brill at 46 Audrey Avenue in the village of Oyster Bay (a few minutes from the Planting Fields Arboretum) is casual and will accomodate both the oyster lovers and haters quite well. Coupons in their website linked below.

FYI, if you google them, don't confuse it with the Canterbury Ales a few miles down the road on New York Avenue in Huntington, NY. Same name, originally same owner, but was sold in 1985 and now are different places.
