REJOICE! Big W BBQ is moving into the mexican diner about one mile south of its current location on rte.22. All BBQ All the time!!!!

rode up to pawling on saturday since the answering machine didn't make it clear that the truck is NO LONGER open. :( 4 pm came and passed, so we headed up to wingdale. we found warren (and josh), and he showed us the smoker shed. said they were opening up this weekend, but i would call ahead. also said they will have a new phone number, but i forgot to get it from them.

so no bbq, but we managed to appease ourselves with burgers from purdys...

I tried to stop in about a month ago while nearby in a car, but Big W was closed for the day.

Per Roadfood, "he'll be opening up a take-out restaurant (with some limited seating) sometime in November. He’ll be located five miles north of his current location on Rt. 22 in a small three-store strip mall in the town of Wingdale, NY."

Is anyone familiar with the site? Is it perhaps within walking distance of the train station?

Edit: Answering my own question, the site is 1475 Route 22, about 1.5 miles south of the Wingdale Metro-North station.

according to warren, they're "shooting for on or about thanksgiving". smoker shed is already built, smokers on their way from georgia...

1475 route 22 is on the same side of the road as his current location, just about 5 miles up the road. i'll be checking it out and reporting in soon after it opens.

i just hope there's enough traffic to support it. guess we'll find out soon enough....

go left as you leave big w...north on 22...go one mile to light...make a left on main st...about half a mile...bear left at cvs...go over rr tracks...about one mile on right is murrow park...i live right next to it...welcome to beautiful downtown pawling!!

You can cop a squat on the grass next to the parking lot. It's perfectly nice. BYO lawn chair or blanket.

Yes, the Thai rice is still there, but the beans are also very good, and the slaw can have its moments.

He's still parked out in front of Pawling Collision: the deal on the diner apparently did not happen. I am pleased to report, however, based on my experience this past weekend, that the ribs and chicken are still great.

believe it or not...the ribs and pulled pork are even better...warren is looking into place on rte.22 in wingdale...about 5 miles north of current location...keep your fingers crossed!
