Top 5 Burgers in Fairfield County?

Of those that I've had, I rate them this way:

1. Donovan's-SoNo
2. Rory's-Darien
3. Telluride-Stamford
4. Archie Moore's-Fairfield
5. Cherrystreet East-New Canaan

Completely disappointed by Fireside and Lucky's in Stamford.

Anyone else have a Top 5?

I second Ancient Mariner in Ridgefield. Especially the Jesse Burger. If you go there and your appetite isn't gargantuan, ask for the child size, but warn them not to overcook it. They tend to keep them on the grill the same amount of time as the regular size. Hence the warning.

I'd go with rory's in darien. good meat, properly ground and seasoned. deb and i go there with some regularity. next time, we'll both get a cup of the daily soup and split the burger. deb will opt for wine, i'll go for the stella.

Ancient Mariner in Ridgefield is very good in my opinion!

            The Black Duck in Westport.

They have 9 or 10 different kind of burgers including cheesestuffed burgers and the monstrosity knows as the 'barge burger'

Does anyone know what the status of Cherry Street East in New Canaan is? I really miss it and am hoping that it will reopen. Or perhaps the former cooks are working someplace else in the area.

The construction continues. I saw the Tyvek was installed last week. I would anticipate a Spring re-birth

jfood thanks for the update on Cherry Street East. Are they rebuilding on the spot? I live in Westport and haven't been to New Canaan since they had the fire.

Yep, looks like they are adding a handicap ramp, but otherwise the orginal footprint and bones are intact. Should be interesting to see how it pans out.

They also had a minor issue with the town on the number of spots and the number of handicapped spots, but worked through it. i think that was te major delay.

Is there any more news on when Cherry Street East in New Canaan will reopen? I am so looking forward to it.

heard some private money pushing it along. Amazing list above though. Donos and telluride sold to others, Cherry Stree w Fire.

Man its getting hard to get a burger around here. That's why I always have a least a half dozen specials in the freezer ready for the weber.

Cherry Street had great burgers...can't wait for it to re-open after that fire.

I spoke to John's(the owner)wife on Wed (7/26), and she told me they will be re-opening in November. I can't WAIT! Great burgers, chili (made w/Guiness), Cobb salad and THOSE fries!

Where is "SoNo"? When the wife works late, i'm off for a burger, but, new to the area, don't know where to go. Thanks.

SoNo is South Norwalk, particularly the neighborhood near the train station and the aquarium.
