I'll be in Port Chester tonight visiting family and wud like to take some relatives out for either a Brazilian or Spannish dinner (not Mexican). Cud some area Hounds offer suggestions? Price not an issue - just authentic (delicious)cuisine.

Thanks in advance.

when you say spanish, are you looking for spanish as in from spain? or just latin (with the exception of mexican)?

Anyhow, I think your best bet will be Pantanal, a rodizio style brazilian place on 29 North Main St. I've not been yet, but I've heard pretty good reviews on this board. And since you are bringing family, it sounds like you want something a little more destination oriented (with good food, still, of course), rather than a hole-in-the-wall place with awesome food (there are a lot of those in PC, by the way).

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your Pantanal suggestion. BTW, yes I'm "looking for Spanish as in from Spain".

I actually am not aware of a Spanish restaurant in Port Chester. Maybe there is one... but I don't think I've seen it. And I've spent a lot of time in PC.

So, looks like Pantanal is your best bet. May want to call ahead (on that link) to make sure of times today. Good luck, and please, report back on how it goes. We need a recent report on the place.

Sorry for the delay in reporting back but I did not try Pantanal so have nothing new to add. Unfortunately, our planned PC dinner did not materialize at the last moment - but thanks for all your assistance.

The only Spanish restaurants I can recommend are far from PC. Solera in Irvington is OK. Marichu (once from Bronxville) in the city is very nice but pricey, but the atmosphere and the wine list numbs the pain at the end. Meigas in Norwalk is a joy. Also pricey, but along with the atmosphere and the wine, what comes out of the kitchen is to die for. Very authentic Spanish with the wonderful touch of the San Sebastian Basque cuisine.
Being of Spanish parents, the hunt for "real Spanish" is always on.
