Babylon, NY
Sorry about all the posting here -- just found this site, and it seems really good.
My other question deals with Babylon, NY... where is good to eat there, in general? Last time I was there I went to the Argyle Bar and Grill... I enjoyed the food, but it seems to be more of a bar crowd place. I'm totally into bars, but sometimes you just don't want that. I had to wait in line in the mens room just to use a urinal.
I also really like the japanese place that's next door (Kotobuki). The service seems really good there too, but I think that's because my parents eat there more often then they are telling me -- last time I was there I got a free coffee mug w/the name of the restaurant on it.
I heard that Gemelle's (the deli/food store in Babylon) has a restaurant now. Is that any good? I'm addicted to their spicy bbq sauce/marinade -- I always have to stock up whenever i'm back in Babylon.

Gemelli's food is excellent but a bit overpriced in my view. Kotobuki probably has the best food in the area and there service is usually great. As locals know there can be an obscene wait for a table at Kotobuki on weekends.
There's three new restaurants opening across the street from Kotobuki one Japanese, one Thai and one Cafe Bistro kind of thing. The Thai place is open but I haven't tried it yet.
A couple of places you may want to check out
Tricia's Cafe
26 E Main St
Babylon, NY 11702
Strictly a burgers and wings place, definitely a bar scene, but a small cozy bar, not like Argyle. Burgers and wings are both good and I also like the sweet potato fries.
Santa Fe Grill
1 W Main St, Babylon, NY 11702
I had a good crab corn chowder for lunch here. They have a large variety of wings of various flavors, but I've yet to try any.
La Bella Palermo
90 W Main St, Babylon, NY 11702
The food is not quite at the same level as Gemelli's but it's good. My favorite thing about this place is that if you order an espresso they bring you Sambuca to go with it (note: I haven't been here in a little while so I'm not sure if they still do this).
Babylon Bean
17 Fire Island Ave, Babylon, NY 11702
Skip desert wherever you eat and come here instead. Great little coffee shop that uses premium Monin syrups (all natural syrups that blow away the crap at Starbucks or most places) for their flavored coffee and other drinks. You can also buy these syrups here (good for baking and such also). Some nice deserts, also.›3 Replies-

Thanks for the detailed response. I've printed this out, and am going to leave it in my car for the next time i'm in Babylon.
I'm glad to hear that the Santa Fe Grill is good. I've been thinking about checking that place out since it opened. It certainly looks nicer then anyplace that has ever been there. I remember when I was a kid, and there was some nasty looking donut/coffee place there.
