Adorable: Ada's Candy Shop in Greenwich

  • u

I've lived in Gwich for 5 years, and just learned about this from the attached article in the Westchester Journal News (forward to page 7).

After school, kids flock to Ada's little place on a residential street. She prices items individually from 1 cent to 1 dollar to help kids learn math, and won't hand over the candy until the kid says, "thank you".

How can you beat that!

  1. I went to Junior high within walking distance of Ada's and would often go before school for a fix. The rowdier kids would skip school and load up there for enough candy for a day of hooky.

Even though I don't eat candy any longer I'm glad to hear it's still around.

Ha! You never know when you're going to bump into (virtually) a survivor of Eastern JHS!

Yes, we used to go after school, sit on the front porch, eat candy, drink soda, and talk about boys.
