where to buy ground almonds?

  • k

sorry for the lame question, but I've gone to several stores and haven't yet been able to find ground almonds. anyone have any tips? a chain type of store would be ideal, just for location flexibility, but I'll take any and all leads...

  1. These are just ideas... I've never actually bought ground almonds (I use the food processor at home) but maybe Berkeley Bowl would have them (they have a huge bulk section) or Whole Foods, or maybe a Middle Eastern or Indian market, since that's something that figures prominently in desserts of those regions.

    Good luck!

    1. Believe it or not, I just bought a bag at Trader Joe's -- they call it "Just Almond Meal" in a one pound bag. I don't remember exactly what it cost, but it was under $3.

Oh good! I was racking my brains trying to remember where I had seen some recently. I just use my food processor, too, but I don't think this was much if any more than buy the almonds, and the grind is more even than I can get from a food processor (I use it to make skin scrub).

score. Trader Joe's "Just Almond Meal", $2.39 /lb.

          thanks for the tip!
