Just found this site and it's what I've been dreaming of.

Here's a good Cuban Place in Deer Park.

La Cubanita II
183 Bay Shore Road
Deer Park, NY 11729
(631) 667-8533

It's right off of Commack Road in a little strip mall. Nothing fancy but they have some tables you can sit at.

They have Cuban Sandwhiches which are delicious. They have different kinds, but I've only had the pork. Also the fried plantains stuffed with meat which are fantastic.

After your Cuban sandwhich go into the candy shop in the strip mall and have an Italian granita, very good made with all natural Monin syrups.

Further up on Commack Road is Rangmahal an Indian restaurant with a great lunch buffet (Mon-Sat not sure about Sunday). It's not that cheap (12$), but there's appetizers and dessert on the buffet and fresh nan is brought to your table (I always ask for more nan which they provide for free). The buffet seems to change daily, but if you see something with vegetables in a cream sauce stock up because it's good. I mostly go with the vegetable entree's because I'm not a big fan of tandoori chicken, which always seem to be on the buffet. The staff or chef, are always eager to answer questions about the food.

  1. Welcome, and if this site is just what you're dreaming of, you are who this site was dreamed up to attract: someone who loves food and likes to tell others about where to find good stuff.

    1. Hi Paul,
Did you see the new latin place on Grand Blvd. by Deer Park Ave. ? It's in the old Bigelow's Clam Bar location right behind the Hess station.

Haven't seen it, but I'm going to try it soon as I get a chance. Thanks for the tip.

      2. Just went back to La Cubanita today, the candy shop is no longer there.
