251086 Wed Feb 27 20:36:21 -0800 2002 0 20 Tristate Region 0 1334151 Having been a fan of Fresco Tortilla in NYC before I stopped working there 6 or so years ago, I was excited to see that it has opened a place in Mineola, mere blocks from my house. I've tried it a half dozen times so far. It's inconsistent, sometimes too salty, but still nicely reminiscent of the original (at least the 42d St place) and quite satisfying. The steak for the tacos, quesadillas, etc is nicely marinated (but once it was way too salty). Favs are the steak taco, jack cheese and steak (or chicken) quesadilla. The rice is very disappointing, dry and crunchy. Anyway, there isn't much to chose from around here for mexican take out, especially that delivers.
