Pies and coffee cake in Scarsdale/Eastchester

Driving from Rt. 22 in Eastchester to the Saw Mill, I've several times noticed a small bakery on Harney Rd. in Scarsdale called Galloway's. Anyone familiar with it? They are open only Friday through Sunday. Yesterday, we stopped to take a look. Boy am I glad!
Pies. About 16 varieties. We got raspberry and it's perfect. We also picked up a thing called an Apple Melt-Away, a very rich coffee cake smothered with cinnamony apple goo. They have various flavors of this butter-delivery system, plus some tamer-looking danish rings with pecans and the like.
They also have rolls, cookies, etc., that don't look too exciting, but judging by their pies, I'll have to give them a try.

Please do not leave without the Apple Crumb pie, the best I've ever had. The homemade small jelly doughnuts are also outstanding.
Everything I have tried there has been good to outstanding. Everything is fresh, as they are only open Fri, Sat, Sunday.
If you're hitting Galloways, it is a must to get to the famous bagel store on Garth Road in Scarsdale, just a few blocks away. NYC bagels pale in comparrison to these masterpieces. Get there early on a saturday or sunday morning for the freshies right out of the oven. It's clearly the best bagel in the world!
I went to galloway's bakery on Friday (haven't been there in a long time). To put it in one word TERRIBLE!!!. Ordered a strawberry ruhbarb pie, it had to be the palest crust I have ever seen, I thought they forgot to cook it. The filling was gummy (paste like). Believe me table talk is better. The $13 price is not what I'm complaining about (I've paid much more), it was inediblable. Also ordered the apple turnovers WHERE WERE THE APPLES?. It was just a greasy dough. I can't believe there are still in business. I will certainly spend my money elsewhere.
