I live on Lawn Guyland. I hunt in Sullivan County. My father and I NEED good eats to satisfy us. We stumbled upon a place in Sullivan County about 16yrs ago when we hunted this area. It is still there. It is called El Monoco. It's off Rt.17(quickway) at the Monticello (Raceway) exit and about 6 miles(or so) into the town of Bethel(I believe)(think Woodstock). It had a very large dining crowd whenever we dined there. It ain't no fancy place, just good eats. Very large portions and all. I was wonderin' if any chowhounds have been to this place. I was there about 3yrs ago as I was passing thru the area and the food was still spectacular, but the customers seem to have faded. It seemed a bit "barren" from the days we dined in a very noisy and overcrowded dining room. There is a "fancy" joint down the road on the lake (White Lake) but it ain't a "find" for me.

I go there all the time during the summer and whenever I am in the area during the winter. Though it's not as crowded during the off season, it still gets busy on friday and saturday nights. The food quality and portion sizes are still the same after all these years. It's without a doubt the best italian restaurant in the area. If you're looking for steak, go to the Homestead which is off of exit 108 or 109. Great meal.
