Does anyone know if good, or even passable, barbeque exist in Rockland County?

Well Bones is Gone, But Now Rockland Does have REAL SMOKEHOUSE BBQ!!!!

Hallejullah!! Bailey's Smokehouse in Blauvelt I liked better then the franchise of Corky's in Atlantic City. Get the ribs, pulled pork, briscuit once, and you will be hooked. The pulled pork Nachos are an AWESOME appetizer!

It is VERY popular, and very crowded on the weekends.

Here is the chowhound article on it and all the info: http://www.chow.com/digest/440

    Enjoy!

My biggest problem with Bailey's is that they always run out of stuff. On two separate occasions, they have been out of ribs, sausage and chicken...one time they were out of all three on one night and it was a Monday!
However, I must say that their pulled pork potato skins are really really good.

I've gone there an average of twice a month over the last two years and never had this problem. On maybe three visits they were out of certain sides (the corn souffle, shells & cheese) and once they were out of smoked sausage. But even when Fink was having problems with his pork supplier he's never been out of ribs or chicken. YMMV, I guess.

There used to be a fairly passable place called Texas but it closed a couple of years ago. All I know of is Rick's Club American in Congers and that is well worth passing up.

Try Bones in New City (across from shopping center)for baby back ribs. They're consistently good... Not quite bbq.
