Can anyone recommend a great dining experience in the Lake Placid or Saranac Lake area of the Adirondacks, or that general vicinity?
Thanks, Imogene

Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid was excellent. It is a Relais & Chateaux Hotel/Restaurant. We walked out of the Mirror Lake Inn as only 3 tables were filled and the hostess asked us to wait at the bar for 10 minutes while they got our table ready.

Lake Placid Lodge in Lake Placid was a superb recommendation. The food was fantastic, and included such delectables as foie gras and roast quail as appetizers. The wine was excellent, with an extensive wine list. The ambiance was especially beautiful, decorated in luxurious Adirondack style overlooking Lake Placid. There is also a pub with outdoor porch seating (and fireplace), as well as some porch seating for the dining room. It was truly special and memorable (and also expensive, but worth it.) Thanks for the great recommendation!
