Am looking for Albany or Albany area restaurants - both "fine dining" and interesting ethnic -

"fine" is in the eye of the beholder, but... I'd give attention to Carmine's in a shopping center on Central Ave (check phone book locally), Provence in the Peter Stuyvesant Shopping Center and Nicole Encore very near on Fuller Road. Sam's on 2nd St near exit 23 of NYS Thruway is also very good. Nicole's in Quackenbush Square is also reputedly excellent. Those are a few very good restaraunts locally (don't turn up a nose at a shopping center location - it seems to be a growing thing)

When you're formerely from Brooklyn and now live in Rochestr you die for rreal Italian food. Here if it has tomato sauce it's Italian. I got to Fannies Restaurant near the traffic Circle in Latham. Great, real italian food. Going there for 20 years and never had a bad meal.
