Fancy Luncheon in Bergen or Rockland County?

We have a Confirmation coming up in May and would like to invite 25-30 friends and relatives to a nice lunch/early dinner. We'd prefer to have a spot with a view or an interesting area to walk around if possible. Areas that come to mind are Nyack and Piermont in NY, and Westwood or Ridgewood in NJ. We just don't know of any specific places to call. Can anyone suggest some restaurants? $25-$30 per person is what we thought would be reasonable. Thanks.

Esty Street is just about the best I've been been too. I have had some really incredible meals there - crab cakes with ginger slaw was always my favorite, incredible sorbet. Wonderful service, decent moderate priced wine list... Fantastic goat chees ravioli...
This used to be my standard place for expense account lunches...

Caveat: I have moved, so my info is a year out of date.

What better place than Saddle River Inn?

Hudson House in on Main St. in Nyack is good. There's no view, but it's in the heart of the village, and just a couple blocks away from the river, if you want to stroll. The food is reliably good and the building kind of interesting. It's the former village hall, with the old jail cell now doing duty as the wine cellar. I can also recommend Casa Del Sol, just down the street, which serves kind of pan-Latin American food.

In Piermont, Pasta Amore serves decent Italian food in a fairly pretty room, and depending on where you sit, a partial river view. Also in Piermont, you could try the Turning Point, although they probably can't hold many more than 25-30 people.

And Restaurant X, a few miles north of Nyack in Congers is excellent, and is large enough to handle a big group, but might exceed your budget. I've only been there for dinner, though, so they might have a more modestly priced lunch or brunch menu.

I second Restaurant X in Congers, NY, it is situated in a beautiful setting with a lovely duck pond. The food is quite good, I think you can get a special menu with special prices.
